About Langdon 

Langdon is a Jewish Charity, an ambitious, forward-thinking organisation supporting adults and young people with learning disabilities and autism to live independent lives through supported living, education, employment support and social activities. We support people in the Jewish Community in both London and Manchester enabling those to thrive and have equal opportunities and empowering them to live their very best lives and be their best, true selves.

What will you be doing? 

The objective of the role is to build a vibrant Jewish community at Langdon through involving members in promoting Jewish culture, traditions and values.

The role includes: 

  • To act as a champion for Jewish Culture at Langdon in Manchester.
  • Facilitate activities related to Jewish holidays, culture and traditions, Support staff with appropriate training in Kashrut and essential Judaism laws.
  • Liaise with the Activities Co-ordinator to ensure Jewish cultural activities are carried out in people’s homes.
  • Communicate with our Jewish Culture volunteer in London to coordinate activities.
  • Serve as a resource for any questions related to Jewish customs and practices.
  • Advise staff in preparation for major Jewish festivals including Passover, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
