About Langdon 

Langdon is a Jewish Charity, an ambitious, forward-thinking organisation supporting adults and young people with learning disabilities and autism to live independent lives through supported living, education, employment support and social activities. We support people in the Jewish Community in both London and Manchester enabling those to thrive and have equal opportunities and empowering them to live their very best lives and be their best, true selves.

What will you be doing? 

Be a Buddy for one of our Members on a 1-1 basis! (A support worker will be present when suitable). We are looking for individuals to be a buddy to various different Members in London and Manchester. This can be weekly, monthly or whatever frequency you are able to give.


Manchester Buddies

  1. Liverpool Fan

This Member loves supporting Liverpool FC, board games and going for walks.

London Buddies

  1. Arsenal fan

If you support Arsenal through and through, then you’ll never run out of enjoyable conversation for this service Member. You will enjoy going for coffee and having general chats about anything then you are a perfect match.

  1. Spurs fan

If you are a passionate Spurs supporter, then you should apply for this position! You will have endless chats about football, go for walks, chat about relationships and go for coffee.

      4. Cooking & Baking Buddy x2

If you enjoy cooking or baking, then you can make a big difference to the day to day lives of our Members. You will be buddied with one person on a 1-1 basis to cook and/or bake with something delicious on a regular basis.

All buddy roles include:

  • Being supportive towards what the member wants to talk about.
  • Availability and commitment to a regular time to ensure stability for the member you will be buddied up with.
  • Being organised and letting us know well in advance if you are unable to make it one week.
  • Ensuring our member always feels safe.
  • Promoting and adhering to the workplace values: Excellence, Responsive, Integrity, Caring and Empowering.
What are we looking for?
  • You are person-centred and are patient to an individual’s needs.
  • You are organised and committed.
  • You are a good communicator when it comes to others with disabilities and autism.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills including empathy, active listening, and communication.
  • You are understanding.
  • You have the desire to support others.
  • You have experience working with people with learning disabilities (not essential).
