Langdon Brady Club at Kisharon Noé School

Langdon Brady Club is an after-school club for Jewish youth with learning difficulties, disabilities and autism. Our aim is to empower our Members to discover and practice their own version of independence. Our clubs achieve this by being a supportive and approachable environment for our Members to improve their social skills while having fun.

At our clubs we do activities with the aim of helping our Members to open up around their peers and our staff support them in developing relationships with each other. Regular activities include:

  • Games and sports – we have an expansive library of games, toys, puzzles and sports equipment for our Members to use. They’re an excellent mechanism for staff to model positive social etiquette and to assist in building friendships between Members.
  • Arts and Crafts – we have a variety of crafting activities and resources. Arts can be valuable in giving Members an understanding of how good it feels to be proud of their work and to achieve a goal. The art also facilitates the positive communication that happens between Members while we sit together in a relaxed space working on our projects.
  • Group music and dance– We have a collection of percussion and string instruments. Creating music and dances together is a way for the group to bond and to get a sense of achievement from their time with others. It also challenges the Members to think about how they act in relation to others as a contributory Member of a team working towards a shared aim.

At each session there will be a specific activity delivered by our staff. If this activity is not of interest to your child, they are encouraged to direct their own time using our resources and the support of our other staff to help them engage with other members with similar interests.

The group will run every Wednesday in the summer term from 3:30-5:30pm. Parents will be required to pick up or arrange transport for those who attend.

This group is suitable for those aged 12-18. However, this is only an age suggestion so please get in touch if your child is outside of this range but might benefit from attending the group.

Unfortunately, Langdon Brady clubs are not able to provide 1:1 support. If your child requires 1:1 care, please get in contact to discuss what extra provision is necessary.

If this will be your child’s first Langdon activity, please complete our sign up form prior to attending.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
