In the spirit of collaboration, we have engaged with our staff, volunteers, Members, their families, and other stakeholders, to help create and drive this vision forward.

Slide Our Vision and Mission Our aim is that people with learning disabilities live in an inclusive world where they are valued equally. Our vision is to ensure that people with learning disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else, so they can live independently in their local community. Our aspiration is to create a community in which Jewish young people and adults with learning disabilities or with autistic spectrum disorders thrive and have equal opportunities to live the lives they choose.

Slide Providing Livingness Langdon support hundreds of adults and young people with learning disabilities and autism across the UK, helping our Members to live their very best lives independently. This is something we call Livingness. Slide What is Livingness? “The condition or quality of having life and being alive; Possession of energy, vigour or animation; The ability to live as our best, true selves” Slide Empowering our Members to make decisions about who they want to be and what they want to do, to take control of their lives and create opportunities for themselves. Slide Encouraging and supporting our Members to have a fulfilled social life and be active within the wider community. Slide Enabling the families of our Members to live their lives knowing that their children have a future full of potential. Slide Facilitating collaborative partnerships between Members, their families, and other stakeholders so they can lead independent and fulfilled lives.

Slide Langdon today Providing services across London, Hertfordshire and Manchester for people with learning disabilities
and autism
Supported living for 110 members A rich learning environment in our Colleges in London and Manchester Jewish Youth Club and holiday schemes for 9 to 19+ year olds  Extensive work experience, training and employment opportunities

Slide Building on the great work of former trustees, where Langdon Members are at the heart of everything we do, we are now ready to be even more ambitious in enabling our Members to believe in their abilities and to aspire to achieving even greater goals for themselves. Our mission is set against a backdrop of a growing learning-disabled population in the Jewish community, the impact of the pandemic, funding challenges and the commitment to increase our engagement with the communities which we serve. Langdon is a tenacious and values led organisation committed to addressing its challenges. This will not happen overnight but with the support of all our stakeholders we will affect our strategy and ensure all our Members thrive and are able to be the best of themselves. Our ambitions
