NEW CHAPTERS – VOLUNTEERS

New Chapters is growing fast and we need volunteers to support our bookselling social enterprise.

We are looking for volunteers to support a Langdon member who’s task is to find a value for books, sometimes rare books, post online, put into storage and help with shipping when sold. This role is 4 hours a week or more.

NEW CHAPTERS – DRIVER

New Chapters are inundated with offers of books and we are looking for a driver to volunteer to drive our van for collection from various locations. The volunteering involves working closely with Langdon members and staff, handling books and boxes is not essential. This role is for 4 hours a week or more.

BUDDY PROGRAMME – VOLUNTEERS

We are looking for volunteers to join a new Buddy Program. The objectives of the program are:

• To support a Befriending relationship to increase confidence and self-esteem
• To help reduced isolation for some Langdon members
• To provide emotional support and improve emotional well-being

We are looking for Buddies who can commit to regular sessions on a 1:1 basis and who have the following attributes:

Reliable, patient, good listener, good communicator, non-judgemental and empathetic

This volunteering role is for 2 hours a week.

Langdon will provide a person-centred induction and training.

LANGDON BRADY YOUTH CLUB WORKER

Location: Edgware
Hours: 6 hours per week + 20 days during the school holidays

Langdon are looking for a creative and innovative part-time Youth Worker to support our young people in our youth clubs and holiday schemes.

If you are looking for a fresh challenge, enjoy engaging with young people with learning disabilities, have a real desire to make a difference to someone’s life and the skills required to help us deliver an engaging and fun youth programme to our members, then we want to hear from you.
